The oil, extracted from the aromatic herb, has a powerful herby scent with a camphorous tones. Similar in nature to other herb oils like Rosemary and Thyme, Basil has a stimulating and concentration boosting scent. It can work well in a diffuser and lends itself to be blended with other energising oils.
Basil boasts similar hair care benefits to Rosemary Oil. It promotes strong, healthy hair. Adding a couple of drops to your shampoo can help boost shine and strength and promote a healthy scalp.
Basil has purifying and cleansing properties, so it can be beneficial in skincare preparations, particularly for those with oily, problematic skin.
Dilute at a percentage of 1% of the finished blend, 1ml of essential oil (approx. 20 drops) to 100ml of carrier oil. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Consult your doctor or midwife before using during pregnancy.
For an energizing atmosphere, add our Basil Oil to your diffuser or burner. It blends well with other oils, particularly other herby oils, although it is very powerful and can over power a blend so a little is all you need.
Use in a massage blend with a carrier oil, to enjoy the invigorating and stimulating powers of Basil Oil. We recommend Sweet Almond (#215), Grapeseed (#210) or Coconut Oil (#203).
