Cold pressed Bergamot oil is phototoxic on human skin, which means that is can cause sensitivity and over pigmentation of the skin in sunlight. This is why, here at Naissance, we have removed the furocoumarin from our Bergamot Oil, making is safe to use on the skin in sunlight.
Bergamot is a popular oil for aromatherapy for its uplifting and balancing powers. Its wonderfully refreshing and reviving aroma is said to instil feelings of calm, freshness and happiness. Get a positive vibe by inhaling the citrusy, sweet scent.
Bergamot Oil is used in many skincare preparations. It is naturally cleansing whilst providing a soothing and calming sensation to the skin. As part of a skincare oil blend, it can be good for those who have oily or dry skin.
Bergamot Oil is an ideal oil to add to your favourite massage oil blend. It has this beautiful refreshing, light aroma which will help you feel uplifted yet relaxed after a massage, plus it smells great too.
Dilute at a percentage of 1% of the finished blend, typically 20 drops or 1ml of essential oil to 100ml of carrier oil. Do not use undiluted on the skin. You can use up to 3% dilution for use on your body or in the bath. Consult your doctor or midwife before using during pregnancy.
Add a couple of drops of Bergamot to your facial cleanser for the added benefits of Bergamot.
Create your own revitalising blend including Bergamot, Lemon (#103), Grapefruit (#115) and Orange (#105) and use in your burner or diffuser.
For an uplifting massage, why not make your own massage blend by combining Bergamot with Spearmint (#165), Basil (#144), Lime (#121), Rosemary (#108) and Eucalyptus (#101) with a carrier oil of your choice. We recommend Grapeseed (#210), Sweet Almond (#215) or Coconut Oil (203). (See above for dilution ratio).

For a wonderful, aromatic spa experience at home, try combining Bergamot with one of our carrier oils and add it to your bath, leaving you smelling beautiful and your skin felling silky smooth.
