The Himalayan Cedar tree is native to the Himalayan region including eastern Afghanistan, northern India and northern Pakistan. A tall, coniferous tree, which can grow up to around 50 metres tall.
Cedarwood Himalayan is very similar to its cousin, Cedarwood Atlas. It has a slightly sweeter aroma than the Atlas variety but has the same therapeutic benefits.
This woody, rich oil is often used in aromatherapy for its soothing and stabilising aroma. It is ideal for diffusing as it helps complete aromatherapy blends and brings a grounding, earthy base note.
Cedarwood Himalayan Oil is an excellent oil to use in massage, particularly suited to more masculine massage oil blends. Combined with a carrier oil and other essential oils, you can make a calming and strengthening blend that will maximise the benefits of massage.
Cedarwood Himalayan can be used in our homemade formulations such as balms, body oils, shave and beard oils. It is believed to be beneficial to those with oily skin.
How to Use
Dilution: Dilute at a percentage of 1% of the finished blend, approx. 20 drops or 1ml of essential oil to 100ml of carrier oil. Do not use undiluted on the skin. You can use up to 3% dilution for use on your body or in the bath.
Aromatherapy: Add a few drops to your diffuser or oil burner and immerse yourself in the calming and harmonising aroma of Cedarwood Himalayan.
Massage: Make your own massage oil blend by adding Cedarwood Himalayan and your other favourite essential oils to a carrier oil. We recommend Coconut Oil (#203), Sweet Almond (#215) or Grapeseed Oil (210).
Skincare: You can use Cedarwood Himalayan Oil as an ingredient for your homemade beauty formulations and applications.
Beauty Hack: Combine Cedarwood Himalayan with a carrier oil of your choice and use as an alternative to shaving foam for moisturised silky smooth skin. We recommend Extra Virgin Olive Oil (#233) or Hemp Seed Virgin Oil (#206).
