There are two type of Peppermint oil that have that instantly recognisable scent of mint, Peppermint Arvensis and Peppermint Piperita. Arvensis, also known as mentha arvensis, corn mint or wild mint, has a much higher menthol content than Piperita.

Extremely popular in aromatherapy, this powerful, refreshing oil is frequently used for its stimulating and awakening aroma. Often used to boost concentration and awaken the senses. Peppermint Arvensis is super versatile and it blends well with many other essential oils.

When applied topically, Peppermint Arvensis has a cooling effect on the skin, making it ideal for use in a massage oil blend. Combine with a carrier oil and other essential oils to make your own stimulating and energising blend to maximise the benefits of massage.

Peppermint Arvensis is a good oil to use in skincare. Reviving and balancing in nature, it is ideal for those with oily skin. It makes a useful ingredient in your homemade skincare formulations, particularly cleansers, toners, lip balms, foot scrubs and many more.
