INGREDIENTS: 100% Shea Butter, Unrefined Organic
INCI: Butyrospermum parkii
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Ghana
ODOUR: Distinctive, strong, nutty odour
COLOUR: Pale yellow to cream solid butter
EXTRACTION METHOD: Traditionally, this 'Women's Gold' is picked and pressed in small African villages by local women, who rely on the butter as their main form of income. This is an unrefined, certified organic, pure Shea Butter from Ghana. The Nuts are collected by the women, dried, shelled and ground. They are then roasted to bring out the oils and hand kneaded until it becomes a smooth creamy butter.
We source our Shea Butter from a co-operative of women started by Georgina Koomson, based in Wa in Northern Ghana. This group of over 600 women support a local community of over 2400 individuals and through the production of Organic Shea Butter are helping to build a better future.
We will be giving back to their community through various projects including the digging of a well to help ensure access to a safe clean water supply.
#NaissanceQuest ' This is just the beginning!
Shea Butter is an ancient natural remedy that has come to form part of many people's skin and hair care routine. Shea is an important part of many cosmetic recipes providing vitamins, minerals and natural moisture to the skin and hair.
Naissance Unrefined Organic Shea Butter retains the colour, smell and nutrients of the Shea kernel. It is the ideal ingredient for your therapeutic recipes, or as a single ingredient remedy to feed your skin, hair and nails. Naissance Organic Shea is grown according to organic standards only using organic pesticides and fertilizers. Better for the bees!
Unrefined Shea has that punchy smell and distinctive colour, whereas refined Shea is a white, odourless butter that will not overpower the other ingredients in your beauty recipes and has a longer shelf-life.
Shea has been used for centuries as a naturally nourishing and moisturising butter and an ingredient in many of the world's best beauty products. It provides condition and nourishment to skin that needs it most.
Bursting with natural, beneficial properties including vitamins A, E, F and K, and Oleic and Stearic fatty acids, our Organic Shea Butter feeds you skin, leaving it looking softer, smoother and improving the overall look of your skin's texture.
Shea is excellent for your hair, when applied to the ends of the hair for extra conditioning and to help keep eyebrows on fleek. It gives hair shine, conditions and helps define certain hair styles, and a little goes a long way. Can help keep your hair frizz free as it seals in moisture and protects from environmental elements.
How to Use

All vegetable oils and fats are 100% fat and are generally high in calories (on average about 120 calories per tablespoon).
Vegetable oils are often used in food preparation for salad dressings, cooking, frying, baking, sauces and marinades. As a general guide, virgin and unrefined oils have more of the oil's natural flavour and lend themselves well for use in cold dishes. Refined oils generally have longer shelf lives and may have a higher smoke point and therefore be better for high heat cooking, but this varies depending on the type of oil.
Each oil has its own distinct flavour and nutrient and Fatty Acid composition, so each oil may be used for different purposes depending on your need.
